Fran Beck, long time resident, FPNA member, and friend, passed away on Friday, May 16th. Fran and husband Harold were neighborhood activists before there was an NA. They were instrumental in saving Kirn Field (later Kirn Park) from being converted to a housing development. At the same time, they raised seven children and sent them to college. Fran was a friend to many neighborhood children at a time when there were lots of them. She was also an accomplished cook and seamstress, and offered her skills to many projects outside her home.
Vigil service for Fran is Monday, 5:30 p.m., followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Peters Catholic Church. Cards may be sent to Harold at 198 Glen.
