The Prince of Darkness isn’t heading toward the light just yet, as he hopes to summon the strength for one final performance this summer, People.com is reporting.
Ozzy Osbourne, 76, is set to take the stage July 5 for a one-and-done gig at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, entitled “Back to the Beginning” alongside his original Black Sabbath bandmates — Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
According to the outlet, “the Ozzman” says that while he doesn’t intend to perform a full Sabbath set, he does intend on doing “little bits and pieces” with the group as he feels “comfortable.”
“All I can say is I’m giving 120%. If my God wants me to do the show, I’ll do it,” he said on his show SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks, which airs on SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard.
The iconic singer and songwriter was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, which has now affected his ability to walk, the report said.
The band will be joined by Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax and Mastodon.
Guns N’ Roses’ Slash, Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, Wolfgang Van Halen and Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello are also set to form a super-band for the concert, which reportedly sold out in 16 minutes this past February.
