Popular fitness equipment sold at Costco has been recalled after more than 100 injuries were reported by consumers.

Earlier this month, Johnson Health Tech Trading announced a recall of more than 3.8 million of the BowFlex Adjustable Dumbbells due to an impact hazard, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

It involves BowFlex 552, which are 52.5-pound adjustable dumbbells, and BowFlex 1090, which are 90-pound adjustable dumbbells, CPSC stated.

The weight plates can dislodge from the handle during use, posing an impact hazard.

There were 337 reports of the plates dislodging during use, including 111 resulting in injuries, such as concussions, abrasions, broken toes, or contusions, according to the recall notice.

The BowFlex 552 dumbbell product was sold at Costco. Members should immediately stop using it and return it to their local Costco immediately.

The dumbbells were also sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods and Best Buy stores nationwide, and online at BowFlex.com and Amazon.com.
