STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Costco members will now have more time to fill up their vehicle. The warehouse retailer, which is a popular hotspot thanks to its reduced fuel prices, is expanding hours at its on-site gas stations nationwide.
The expansion, which is already in effect at the New Springville store, will give shoppers an extra hour on weekdays and an additional one-and-a-half hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
The change was announced earlier this week on social media, via a post which has since garnered over 10,000 likes and shares, plus plenty of comments and criticism.
“Why can’t the pumps be 24 hours?,” one commenter noted.
“Loving the 6 a.m. pump access on weekends!” another shopper said. “Now, please consider 8 a.m. (or earlier) access to the store.”
The new hours are: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Friday; 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Warehouse hours still remain the same: 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday; 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
