STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One Staten Island City Council candidate is wasting no time kicking off the 2025 campaign season.

Just eight days removed from this year’s election, Jozette Carter-Williams, who is hoping to unseat Councilwoman Kamillah Hanks (D-North Shore) in the June Democratic primaries, gathered about 50 supporters outside the 120th Precinct in St. George Wednesday to announce her candidacy.
