The creator of an iconic cartoon character got a call this week from President Donald Trump.
And promptly sent the call straight to voicemail.
Scott Adams, creator of the popular “Dilbert” cartoon character and a conservative pundit, revealed on Monday that he is suffering from prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.
Adams disclosed his condition after the announcement on Sunday that President Joe Biden is suffering from the same dire illness.
Following his announcement, Adams said he got two phone calls and a voicemail from Trump, the New York Post reported.
In a video shared on X, Adams said that he got a call from “a number in Florida” that he didn’t recognize. So he sent the call straight to voicemail.

“The first sentence of the [voicemail] transcription…is ‘This is your favorite president,’” Adams said with a chuckle, “Did I just send the most important person in the world to voicemail?”
Adams said that the president left him a “semi-lengthy” check-in voicemail, including a number that Adams was to use to get in touch with Trump.
But it wasn’t that simple.
“Now obviously I don’t call him back because that would be ridiculous. It was just a nice thing for him to say,” said Adams, a Trump supporter since 2016.
But Adams got another call several hours later from the same number.
“I thought to myself, ‘No f—king way,’” the cartoonist reported.
“I answer it and it’s Trump,” Adams said, still in disbelief.
“He was just checkin’ on me and he wanted to make sure I was getting everything I needed,” he said.
And it didn’t end there, Adams said.
“At the end, the strangest thing happened,” he recalled. “At the end of the call, when he found out that the situation was kinda dire, he said, ‘If you need anything, I’ll make it happen.’”
“And he meant it,” Adams said.
