STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The FDNY responded to a fire in an apartment building where two people were injured in Stapleton early on Tuesday morning.
The fire was called at 1:41 a.m. in the multi-unit dwelling at 83 Thompson Street between Wright and Bay streets, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.
About 12 units and 60 firefighters brought the blaze under control at 2:14 a.m., the spokesman said.
EMS transported two civilians with injuries that are not considered life threatening to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, the spokesman said.
The fire remains under investigation, the spokesman said.
