STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The FDNY responded to a house fire in Eltingville on Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called at 10:24 a.m. to 103 Pacific Ave. between King and Hillcrest streets, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.
The blaze is thought to have started in the attic of the occupied, 1.5-story, 20-by-40-foot home, the FDNY spokesman said.
About 12 units and 60 firefighters and EMS personnel brought the fire under control in about a half hour, at 10:51 a.m., the FDNY spokesman said.
The two people treated at the scene refused further medical attention, the FDNY spokesman said.
Fire Marshals will determine the cause and origin of the fire, the FDNY spokesman said.
Siding was removed from the attic, exposing the burnt interior. Water damage was evident on bricks in the front of the home.
