STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The FerryHawks gave more than 3,000 energetic fans plenty to cheer for during a special Education Day at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park Wednesday, defeating the Long Island Ducks, 10-7.

Morgan Sweeney took the mound as the starting pitcher for the FerryHawks but was greeted quickly by Long Island Ducks center fielder Chris Roller, who launched a solo home run on just the third pitch of the game to give the Ducks an early 1-0 lead.
