STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Whitney Tilson, a former hedge fund manager, author and political activist, is one of 11 candidates vying for the Democratic Party nominee in New York City’s upcoming mayoral primary.

Tilson touts himself as the only candidate with a business background and the only one who’s not a career politician.
