STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A set of headphones was snatched from a senior woman in a brazen robbery reported at a popular shopping center in New Dorp, according to sources.
The robbery occurred at about 8:10 p.m. Thursday at a store at 2656 Hylan Blvd., according to a spokesman for the NYPD.
The Boulevard shopping center is located at the address supplied by police.
A 65-year-old woman was wearing Beats headphones valued at about $299 as she stood in line inside a store when an unknown male snatched the headphones off her head, police said.
The woman tried to follow the suspect, who then pushed her and fled, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
No injuries were reported in the incident and the investigation continues, the police spokesman said.
A description for the suspect is not yet available from police.
