STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- One Staten Island elected official has earned a new union endorsement for her work advocating for safer working conditions for its members.

The Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association, the union that represents the captains, assistant captains, mates, engineers and chief engineers on the Staten Island Ferry, recently announced its endorsement of Councilmember Kamillah Hanks in her re-election campaign.
