Man, 60, found dead inside ambulance in NYC, police say

A man was found dead inside an abandoned ambulance without wheels Saturday in Brooklyn, according to authorities.

Police responded to a 911 call regarding a male in need of aid around 7:50 a.m. outside 197 Snediker Ave., according to a statement released by the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The 60-year-old man was unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the neck, police said.

While EMS responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene, sources told amNewYork that the man was discovered sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle with “suspicious” neck trauma.

It is unknown how long the ambulance has been sitting at the side of the road, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

The identity of the deceased is pending family notification, police said.
