STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A slow-moving cold front will bring scattered showers and potential thunderstorms to Staten Island on Saturday, with a high rip current risk along the coastline. Residents should prepare for intermittent rainfall and potentially challenging beach conditions throughout the day.

The National Weather Service forecasts a probability of showers across the area Saturday afternoon, with some embedded thunderstorms possible. While severe storms are not anticipated, rainfall could be moderate, with amounts averaging around half an inch. The cold front is expected to move through the area from west to east, with precipitation most likely between late morning and early evening.
