STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — With a “La Vita è Bella” theme, Notre Dame Academy held its senior prom in the heart of Italy Thursday night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomfield.
In Nicotra’s Ballroom, life was certainly “beautiful” as it was decked out with flowers, lemons and even a mini Vespa. With an opening speech from principal Meaghan O’Brien and blessing from Sr. Christa Gesztesi, over 150 guests took to the floor to dance the night away.
Notre Dame Academy was extremely thankful to its vendors, particularly Esquared for the music, MGM Guernera Brothers for providing live music during cocktail hour, Langdon Florist for the centerpieces on each table, Batter Up Bakery for providing fresh cannolis and Hope Floats for the balloon art and backdrop for making the night possible.
Grand entrance
Despite a steady downfall of rain between 6:30 and 7:15, that didn’t stop the Gators and their guests from showing up in style. From party buses to white limos, the Grymes Hill school was dressed to impress with the ladies sporting elegant and lavish gowns while the gents looked dapper in matching suits and tuxedos.
Best dressed
While there were three main contenders for the title, it was ultimately Isabella Gramegna and Justin Chi who won “Best Dressed.” Dressed for the theme and standing out from the crowd, Gramegna wore a white and light blue floral dress adorned with ruffles with a bouquet to match. Her date, Chi, wore a grey suit with a matching floral bowtie to Gramegna’s ensemble.
