STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police are investigating several robberies and thefts that occurred across Staten Island over the past week and change, according to the NYPD. Police report that the following robberies also occurred in the borough, according to a report by CompStat, the NYPD’s data system:
- A pocketbook robbery was reported at the intersection of Richmond and Rockland avenues in New Springville at 11 p.m. on May 26.
- A carjacking robbery was reported on May 28 at 9 p.m. on Lyndale Avenue and Sycamore Street Avenue in Eltingville.
- A bodega robbery was reported on May 29 at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Wemple Street and Spartan Avenue in Mariners Harbor.
- A residential robbery was reported on June 1 at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Park Hill Avenue and Sobel Court in Clifton.
- Also on June 1, at 10 p.m. a dwelling robbery was reported at the intersection of Orinoco and Erastina places in Mariners Harbor.
As of June 1 the borough has seen 16 fewer reported robberies this year compared to the same time period in 2024, with 119 robberies reported in 2025 and 135 robberies reported in 2024, according to the CompStat data.
