State lawmaker from Queens to appear on ballot for Democratic mayoral primary

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Jessica Ramos, a New York State Senator representing District 13 in Queens, is one of 11 candidates vying for the Democratic Party nominee in New York City’s upcoming mayoral primary.

Ramos, who assumed office in 2019 and currently chairs the Senate Committee on Labor, touts herself as a candidate who will bring the voice of working families, immigrants and everyday New Yorkers to City Hall, according to her campaign website.
