Staten Island Democrats back Cuomo’s NYC mayoral campaign

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Eight of Staten Island’s top Democrats came out in support of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in his race to become the city’s next mayor, Cuomo’s campaign announced Monday.

All of the Democratic Party Assembly District leaders — Thomas Blancero, Bianca Rajpersaudu, Abou Diakhate, Jasmine Robinson, Alice Punzone, Afzal Ali Ansari, Nithiananda Chatterjie, and Joann Olbrich — were among 25 such district leaders who endorsed the governor in his effort to replace Mayor Eric Adams.
