MSIT ready for PSAL 2A championship game

MSIT head coach Jerold Sidman believes his team is ready to bring home the PSAL 2A crown (Kara Buzga for Staten Island Advance)..

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— This Saturday, McKee/Staten Island Tech will face Hunter College High School for the PSAL 2A Division Championship — a perfect opportunity for the Seagulls to complete an undefeated league season, avenge last year’s semifinal loss as the top-seeded team in the playoffs and bring home their first city title in school history.

MSIT hasn’t accrued a spotless PSAL record by simply eeking out wins over its opponents — on its way to a second straight perfect regular season and the No. 2 seed in this year’s playoffs. The Seagulls have outscored opponents by an average margin of 12 runs, a dominant run that has exceeded all expectations under head coach Jerold Sidman.
