STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— After amassing a spotless 18-0 PSAL record en route to the 2A division city title game, McKee/Staten Island Tech’s bid for a perfect season and first championship in school history came up just short on Saturday as the Seagulls fell to Hunter College High School, 10-4, at SIUH Community Park.

On the mound, McKee/Tech’s senior ace Matthew Mavricos —who entered the game leading the PSAL with 12 wins — had an uncharacteristically difficult outing.
