STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A silent Staten Island majority seems to have caught on to New York City’s new curbside composting program.
Local opponents to the new system have been vocal in their opposition, particularly on social media, but data shared by the Department of Sanitation Friday showed the three local community districts among the top in the city for collected compostable material in April and May, the first two months of the city’s curbside composting program.
